Paolo Marsili

Mechanical Design Responsible

Graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1959, University of Rome.

 

With SISPRE in ’58 to ’67 he was responsible for the design and prototype construction of missile autopilot systems, radar and IR autotracking systems, analogue simulator instrumentation and three axis hydraulic motion simulators.

 

From ’67 to ’82 with Compagnia Nazionale Aerospaziale, as Manager for the design and implementation of the SIRIO’s attitude, orbit control and propulsion subsystems, and responsible for Subco’s management. He was also involved in the design of scientific and Earth resources satellites, and was Program Manager for ITALSAT phase A.

 

From ’82 to ’95 with Alenia Spazio, Strategic Planning of Space Activities Dept., he was involved in robotic systems design. He developed an ultralight antenna deployment and pointing control system, which has been flown on ITALSAT II.

Rodolfo Gamberale

Information & Communication Technology

Graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1963, University of Rome.

 

1963 to 1964 as a commissioned officer in the Italian Air Force, responsible for avionics testing and maintenance personnel training

 

1964 to 1982 at Selenia S.p.A., initially for Solar Panel Design and Development, then from 1971 onwards, first as a computer designer and then as head of the department responsible for design and development of digital equipment and systems for spacecraft

 

1982 to 1985 with Selenia Spazio as head of the digital systems design department which was in charge, among other tasks, of the digital telemetry system for the entire series of the Intelsat VI spacecraft

 

1985 to 1998 with Selenia Spazio, which became Alenia Spazio in 1991, as responsible for standardization and coordination of software engineering and then as Director of the Scientific Information System for the Areas of Rome and L’Aquila, which covered all computing resources dedicated to Engineering, design, development and testing

 

1998-1999 with Alenia Spazio as Director of Information and Communication Technology, with the responsibility of the Company’s Information System, covering all areas of computing as well as local and wide area networks and Internet and Intranet services for the whole Company.

Currently he is responsible for information and communication technology at IMT

Vito Di Bari

Technological Laboratory Engineer

Pietro Fortunato

Safety

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering, University of Naples, 1959

 

1961 to 1967 with Selenia SpA, as Thermal and Mechanical Deigner for Radar equipments

 

1967 to 1983 with Compagnia Nazionale Satelliti (CNS), as Specification and Acquisition responsible for Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), mechanical integration and testing in Sirio 1 Program, mechanical preparation to launch of Sirio 1 Satellite at KSC (Florida), structural analyses studies following Sirio launch, preliminary safety aspects for ITALSAT program

 

1983 to 1994 with Alenia Spazio as Responsible for Satellite Safety in respect to both flight and ground operations.

Currently he is the Safety Responsible , as consultant of IMT srl.

Tonino Giagnacovo

Electrical Engineer

Diploma at Scientific Lyceum Collegio A.Codazzi, Caracas, Venezuela, 1982.

 

From 1989 to 1994 with S.T.I.L., working in the technical documentation section. He worked for industries such as EL.MER. and ALENIA SPAZIO in the documentation field of receivers, transmitters, GPS, and test equipment.

 

From 1996 to 1998 he started an activity as free consultant in electronics, during which time he developed a 70 MHz up/down converter and was involved in the development and engineering of a digital modem. Among the various projects, he was in charge of the engineering and testing of the electronics section of a low-power X-band radar modulator and ALC unit, the control electronics of a satellite-tracking X-band antenna, and an auto-pointing Ku/Ka band antenna. He also collaborated in the development of an S-band spiral antenna to be installed in the International Space Station, project ARISS.

 

As consultant of IMT he is currently working as Electrical Engineer.

Giovanni Lopez

Technological Laboratory Engineer

Graduated in Physics in 2004 at University of Bari

 

In 2004 at ISSIA-CNR, as C programmer about Bistatic SAR simulation.

 

From 2005 to 2008 at Top Rel srl, as Quality Inspector and Technical Supporter for space components

Giuseppe Maglietta

Technological Laboratory Manager

Graduated in Physics, March 1985 at Università degli studi di Bari.

 

From Oct. 1985 to Jan. 1987, lieutenant in the Italian Army.

 

From Apr. 1987 to Jul.1990, at Alenia Spazio (former Aeritalia SpA) Turin, in the special studies office of the Space Systems Group.

 

Aug. 1990 to Nov. 1990, at Spectronic srl, as responsible of optical systems.

Michele Marino

Analog & Mixed Signal Design Engineer

Graduated in Electronics Engineer in 2007, University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Specialization in Automated Systems and Robotics..

 

From 2005 to 2006 with Infineon Technologies AG, working as Analog & Mixed Signal Engineer on Active Probe Circuits for DPA attacks implementation on smart card and cryptoprocessor.

 

From March 2007, at Department of Structures and intelligent materials , as Analog & Mixed Signal Engineer on active inductor and DSP for PEM damping oscillations.

 

From September 2007, at C.S.G.B. Department of Electronics Engineer University of Rome “La Sapienza”,  as Analog & Mixed Signal Engineer of PC104 & FPGA embedded systems, RF combinators, High Drive Voltage Pulser, Infrared laser telemetry systems.

 

Since June 2008 at IMT, he  was assigned to a System Satellite stage activity

 

From September 2008 at IMT, he was assigned to Edusat (ASI Program) Design Engineering activityy

As staff of IMT he is working as Analog & Mixed Signal Design Engineer

Andrea Negri

System Engineer

Graduated in Space Engineering in 2007, University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

 

since June 2007 he  was assigned to a System Satellite stage activity

 

in December 2007, he was assigned to Edusat (ASI Program) Technical activity

As staff of IMT he is working as System Engineer

Giuseppe Papi

EMC Responsible

Graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1970, University of Rome

 

On 1970 he was engaged by SELENIA Company, within the Reliability and Quality Service and started his job working as circuital analyst and reliability specialist, particularly on electronic units of  different Spacecrafts, like SIRIO, ESRO 4, EUROPA 2, STP, etc.; but soon after he shifted to system level activities dealing with mathematical models for Reliability, Safety and Maintainability of Radar Systems

 

On 1978, he changed to the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Department of which he gained the responsibility on 1985.

 

He worked on a new generation Console making part of the Navigation  Control System IPN-10 and on the Defense System DARDO embarked on some Italian Navy War-Ships.

 

After that, within the space Program L-SAT (later OLYMPUS), he was assigned the role of EMC Responsible Engineer for the Payload integrated by Selenia (BAE being the Prime Contractor).

 

Similar charges were entrusted on him for the Radar Altimeter System on board ERS-1 satellite, with Dornier as Prime and ESA as Customer

 

During the years '85 to ' 90, he worked for the Ground Radar Division on Operational Shelters and radars like CATRIN,  3D-Long Range and  MATCALS,  dealing (for the first time in Selenia) with the Nuclear EMP Hardening.

 

From  1990 onward he was involved in EMC, EMP and ESD design and hardening  of avionic units, to be installed on EH-101 Helicopter and E FA aircraft.

From 2003 with IMT he is responsible of all EMC activities.

Francesco Parisi Presicce

RAMS and Parts Engineer

Graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1968,   Padova University

 

1969- 1971 with Vitroselenia, and from 1971 to1973 with Selenia as responsible of a check out and test of Data Display Subsystem of Nadge

 

1973-1976 with Selenia as system engineer for small ATC systems

 

1976- 1979  Reliability and Parts specialist for Selenia ASIS division, on naval and avionic equipment for Tornado, AMX and EH101

 

1989 -2003 with Selenia Spazio, which became Alenia Spazio in 1991, as RAMS engineer was in the reliability team for Artemis and Sicral satellites, and for TT&C  subsystems

From 2004 with IMT as RAMS and Parts Engineer

Enrico Petritoli

RAMS, Parts and Radiation Engineer

Graduated in Aerospatial Engineering in 2000, University "La Sapienza" of Rome.

 

1997 to 2000:  As freelance, he was consultant of various SME in the fied of Information and Data Management and LAN management

 

2000 to 2001:  He was responsible of various RAMS activities for IMT srl.

 

2001 to 2002:  IMT srl - he has developed various parts engineering activities and, as design responsible, he has prepared the S/W infrastructure of a Component Data Base. In addition during the same period he has the Project Manager of  a commercial Web Portal.

He is currently responsible (full time) for all RAMS, Parts engineering and Radiation Analyses activities as consultant of IMT srl.

Aldo Storace

Product Assurance

Diploma in Electrotechnics in 1967 at the "ITIS G. Armellini", Roma..

 

From 1973 to 1982 with Ericsson Systems Italy, working as Engineer on AXE Exchange Data Transcript and Installation

 

From 1982 to 1997, at Alenia Spazio (former Selenia Spazio,  as Product Assurance Manager

 

From 1997 to 2002, at Alenia Spazio,  as Head of  Product Assurance Managers of “TLC, Earth Observation , Navigation” Division.

 

From 2002 to 2003, at Alenia Spazio, as Head of the Quality Department of “Telecommunication Direction”. .

As consultant of IMT he is currently responsible for Product Assurance.

Michele Arcangelo Tamma

Technological Laboratory Engineer

Graduated in Physics in 2007 at University of Bari.

June 2008 – Stage at ARPA Puglia on Environmental protection against acustic and electromagnetic pollution.

From Jan 2009, at IMT as Technological Laboratory Engineer.
